Apart from establishing core research capabilities, CPEC as a R&D entity is also interested to form synergistic partnerships with the industry as well as institutes of higher learning both locally and overseas, in order to develop innovative solutions that are relevant to the chemical industry.  

Currently, CPEC's research activities under the four core technology areas (Catalysis/ Catalytic Processes; Process Systems Engineering; Safety, Health and Environmental Science & Technology; Separation and Particulate Science & Technology), lie in the following:
